Pei Yang

Dynamic young artist Pei Yang was born in YangZhou, Chinain 1971. Pei began his art studies in high school and won adiverse range of prizes both in competitions and for hispersonal exhibitions. In 1994 Pei relocated to Canada andembarked on a Fine Art course at the Ottowa School of Artand then the Algonquin College in Ottowa. Pei's remarkable technical ability as a painter iscomplemented by his skillful manipulation of colour to create aluminous light that captivates the eye. His striking still lives,interiors and landscapes demonstrate his versatility, butalthough the genre is varied his style remains highlyrecognisable, and all his glowing compositions celebrate themedium of paint as well as his chosen subject.   Since 1989 Peis paintings have been exhibited in galleriesand government buildings in Canada and China. He has alsoproduced artwork for Columbia Studios and Dreamworks, andhas won an Emmy award for his animation. Pei now lives andworks in Montreal.
