Rolf Harris occupies a unique position on the contemporary art scene from powerful scenes of Australian outback to intimate figurative studies. His art is reflective of his personal experiences and some of the locations he has encountered over his long life as an artist.
Rolf Harris's diverse subject matter makes his style unmistakable and his gift for observation and talent for communication are second to none.
Born in 1930 in Perth, Australia, Rolf Harris then moved to London at the age of 22. During the mid 1950's Rolf became a household name as a television presenter yet still carried out his passion for painting and exhibited his artwork in the Royal Academy for two years.
Rolf then began to devote more time and energy into his artwork and held a number of one-man shows around the UK. He went on to be awarded a CBE and had the opportunity to paint a portrait of Her Majesty the Queen which was commissioned for her 80th birthday. Following that, Rolf had an exhibition in 2010 entitled 'A Life in Art' which celebrated his work for over 65 years in the art business. He was then named as the UK's best selling published artist of 2011.
