Rebecca Lardner

Rebecca Lardner, winner of the Fine Art Trade Guild Award for 'Best New Artist 2008' was born in Swanage, Dorset in 1971. She acheived a BA Honours degree in Illustration from the University of Liverpool after completing an Art Foundation course at college.

Rebecca Lardner is greatly influenced by Cornish Artist Alfred Wallis as well as the Southwest of England and its coastline. Using oil on canvas, Rebecca's use of 'seaside colours' (greens, blues and greys) creates a stunning portrayal of the classic English harbouside and the life that exists alongside it. Her use of figures, boats, sea-birds and houses in her artwork creates the impression of the ceaseless activity of life by the seaside.

Before being signed by a publishing company, Rebecca carved a successful career as an artist and illustrator and was commissioned by various high-profile clients including Paul McCartneys Music Academy.

Over the years, Rebecca has become a very successful international artist having exhibited her work throughout a selection of high profile galleries around the world.
